PHILLIP D. PRATHER

Released: March 27, 1973

I enlisted in the United States Army Reserve Special Forces in July 1964 at
the age of seventeen. I served with them until October 1969 when I was
assigned to the Warrant Officer flight program. I went to Vietnam as a WO-1
on 6 January 1971 and flew OH-6's until 8 March 1971 when I was shot down by
small arms fire near the DMZ. I spent my time as a POW in Hanoi and was
released on 27 March 1973.

I am now twenty-six years of age. I have a wife, Sandra, but no children. I
have one brother and two sisters.

December 1996
Phillip Prather retired from the United States Army as a CW4. He passed
away from a masive heart attack on November 20, 1997.

He was captured during Long Sam 719 near the DMZ and then taken north to
Hanoi. He was the pilot of the OH6 when it was shot down.
