FREDERICK R. PURRINGTON
Lieutenant Commander - United States Navy
Shot Down: October 20, 1966
Released: February 18, 1973

Lcdr. Purrington was a POW in North Vietnam for six years.

He and Margaret Cashman, a Delta Airlines stewardess, had met for the first
time 10 years ago, and after his release from captivity they became
reacquainted. Several months later they were married with Captain Ralph T.
Browning, a fellow former POW, serving as his best man.

With an ultimate goal of earning an MBA, Lcdr. Purrington has returned to
college at Southeastern Massachusetts University. Then, he and his wife,
Maggie, are looking forward to a future in the Navy.

He says, "I wish to extend my thanks to all who kept faith with us and ask you
to keep those listed as M.I.A. in your thoughts and prayers."

December 1996
Frederick Purrington retired from the United States Navy as a Captain. He
and his wife Maggie reside in Massachusetts.
